There are some basic things you have to know before you conceive. They may very well determine whether you conceive or not. Knowing them will also help in determining the sex of the baby you want.

For some couples, the road to pregnancy can be smooth while for others it may be rough. There are couples who make a child in the first year of marriage and for some it takes years. It may have nothing to do with their state of health or fertility. It may just be they do not observe the following points.

1 KNOW YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE. You must know your monthly cycle. Chart your cycle for months. From the beginning to the end, tracking the first day and when you ovulate. You must understand how your cycle works. Not only to conceive but also to choose the gender of the baby you want. Cycles differ from person to person and even from month to month in a person. However, you must be able to keep track and be able to know when you ovulate. Keep track of the first day and know when you are most fertile to conceive. During this window of opportunity, you will be able to schedule intercourse for the baby of your choice.

2.PREDICT YOUR OVULATION PERIOD. Now, if you know your menstrual period well enough you must be able to predict the ovulation period. These 5 days are when you are most fertile. The three days preceding ovulation and the day after. When an egg is released from the ovary, it has about 24 hours to live and you must make sure you get the sperm to it around this period. Ideally you may get pregnant within those 5 days, but it is best to try to time your ovulation and sex for baby as closely as possible.

If you desire a boy, the timing is crucial. Since the Y chromosome do not live long, it is vital to time your intercourse very close to ovulation . This gives the Y chromosome time to reach the egg before the X sperm do, increasing the chances that you will have a boy.

Now for a girl baby, you have to give the X chromosome longer time to reach the egg. Since they live longer, it means you will have intercourse a couple of days before ovulation. By ovulation day the Y sperm will have been dead. You are now left with the X chromosome to fix the egg.

3 LIVE HEALTHILY. Get ready for your pregnancy. It is a journey of nine to ten months, it is worth preparing for. Eat well and live well. You owe this to yourself and your baby. Know and understand your period. Talk to your doctor and report any new signs. Take prenatal vitamins and do not take drugs not recommended by medics.

Getting pregnant does not have to be so difficult. For some it may take a couple of years, for others it is a couple of months. However if you follow the above tips it tilts the scale in your favor. If it doesn’t happen early do not lose hoe. It will happen soon

Getting pregnant is one thing, determining whether you have a baby boy or a baby girl is another.
